FEW QUOTES...

Well being on this conference is awesome...I actually got time to read in the afternoons... I can't remember when was the last time I got to do that... :)
Here are few intresting quotes from the book 'The celebration of discipline' by Richard J. Foster:

"Superficiality is the the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary spiritual problem..."

Keep in mind that he wrote all this in the '70... :)

"grace is free, but its not cheap"

"everybody thinks of changing humanity and nobody thinks of changing himself"

"hurry is not of the devil:it is the devil"

SO much for now...

Foster's book is one of my favorites. Not many books can survive the change of the times, but this one is indeed timeless. Was there a particular discipline that stuck out to you Laci? One part of the book that I enjoyed was his encouragement to pray creatively for our families. I have regularly practiced praying over Simeon while he sleeps in his crib at night, waving my hands over his little body. It has been wonderful. I like his encouragement to live simply as well. Maybe it just coincides with our personalities, but esp. here in America, people buy so much CRAP that they don't really need. Your thoughts?
